POSITION OVERVIEW: This position, based at the Chicago Distribution Center, is responsible for efficiently unloading and loading fruit within our warehouse. The role provides comprehensive support to the Distribution Center, including product discharge and receiving activities. The ideal candidate will be forward-thinking, organized, efficient, and self-motivated, able to complete tasks on time with minimal supervision.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Unload and load products as directed by the manager or supervisor.
• Start generator sets/reefer container units and verify proper operation for loading outbound orders.
• Inspect inbound and outbound fruit for pulp temperature and ensure it meets the correct color specifications.
• Perform daily use and inspections of forklifts.
• Adhere to corporate food safety guidelines, including training and application of GMP and HACCP/Food Safety protocols in daily operations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma required.
• Proficiency in English preferred; Spanish is a plus.
• Forklift experience is beneficial.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical skills.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

• Work is primarily conducted in a temperature-controlled warehouse, including cold storage areas.
• Ability to lift up to 50-pound banana boxes, up to 80 inches high, 80-140 times per day.
• Extended periods of standing may be required.
• Frequent use of basic math and calculators.
• Stooping, bending, twisting, lifting, pulling, pushing, and reaching are required to complete tasks.
