Job Description

DESCRIPTION

Are you excited by providing solutions that are focused on business optimizations? If so, please come and talk to us! We are the Manager and Associate Experience team in the Worldwide Grocery Stores Tech (WWGST) organization and we are always looking at new ways to optimize our grocery business to keep costs low for our customers!

We are seeking a Software Development Engineer to join our team. As a developer on the team, you’ll drive improvements of our technology, collaborating with awesome engineers and highly-engaged users to continuously release our products. We work very closely with our grocery store Site Leads and Associates to help drive efficiency in all facets of Grocery Operations and are not bound by one particular approach, technology or solution. We’re truly an agile shop: we work closely with users, deliver features with high frequency, can pivot on a dime when needed, and are passionate about test coverage, refactoring and paying off technical debt. We’re looking for passionate engineers who look to continuously improve the customer experience, who are motivated by complex problems that improve the operations of our business. If you have an entrepreneurial spirit, know how to deliver, are deeply technical, highly innovative and long for the opportunity to build pioneering solutions to complex problems, please reach out and talk to us!

Key job responsibilities
Our SDE IIIs are highly autonomous and empowered to contribute to the goals of the team and the organization through Deliver Results. Engineers will create designs or participate in the design reviews of others on the team. Members will also work with leadership and our product teams to create the most optimal experiences for our site leads and associates.

A day in the life
Our SDEs work in a highly collaborative environment where you will respectfully interact with team members in daily stand-ups, design reviews, retrospectives and identifying solutions to improve and optimize all of our grocery sites.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
