Role Overview The primary purpose of the National Guard Facility Security Vetting Officer is to assist with maintaining law and order through ensuring personnel warrant granted access to INNG military facilities, preserving the peace, and protecting the lives of 11000 full time employees, part time employees and individuals visiting Indiana National Guard facilities: and protect Federal and State property from sabotage, espionage, domestic or international terrorist attack, theft, fire, and accidental or willful damage and destruction by ensuring access is only granted to trusted individuals. Operate all applicable radio, computer system/applicable program(s), and telephone equipment to perform all related Visitor Control Center (VCC) functions. Attends all required training and certification for authorization and utilization of prescribed law enforcement data centers to include but not limited to the Indiana Data and Communications System (IDACS), National Crime Information Center (NCIC), National Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (Nlets), and other law enforcement related intelligence and information gathering/dissemination systems in response to authorized inquiries concerning background checks and or vetting. Ensures the VCC communications equipment is fully operational and/or reports any malfunction to the appropriate personnel. Maintains daily radio communication and all other required VCC logs. Act as the Stout Field Airfield Vetting Security Manager by providing background checks for security clearances. Work is performed in accordance with established rules and procedures that requires strict confidentiality. Performs related work as required. The position may also be assigned other duties to support in the J4 State Provost Marshalls Office area as necessary. Must be able to acquire and hold a DoD Secret security clearance. May require travel between Indiana National Guard Installations. Salary Statement The salary for this position traditionally starts at $47,320.00, but may be commensurate with education or work experience. This position is exempt from overtime compensation for additional work hours which may be required to complete essential functions or other assigned work. Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and/or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.
