We are seeking a studious and passionate Law Clerk to join our law practice. We are a small litigation firm that handles criminal, personal injury, and other civil matters. The successful candidate will work with two private Attorneys daily and should be able to commit to approximately 20-30 hours per week to begin.
Responsibilities and Duties:
· Assists with drafting motions, pleadings, and briefs.
· Performs legal research.
· Write memorandums and assisting with discovery.
· Assists with maintaining files and database to ensure everything is documented accurately.
· Assists with other essential office functions.
Qualifications and Skills:
· Be currently enrolled in law school.
· Comfortable using Apple computers.
· Have proficiency in Word and Excel.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding all firm and client matters.
· Have an excellent eye for detail and ability to proofread documents.
· Be able to multi-task and prioritize work.
· Have a willingness to pitch in where needed.
· Must have an interest in criminal defense.
· Must have strong research and analytical skills.
· Must be looking for long term law clerk position.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook.
· Excellent analytical abilities.
· Good organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work well independently but more importantly as part of a team.
· Ability to exercise flexibility, initiative, good judgment, and discretion.
This is an ideal position for a 1L/2L evening law student.
