Job Description

Title: PM Warehouse Manager

Department: Warehouse

Salary: $75,000 - $85,000

Reports To: Supply Chain Manager

Location: Warehouse, including Staging, Mixing, and Cook Rooms

SUMMARY:

The warehouse manager will direct and coordinate activities concerned with production and inventory management of company products by performing the following duties personally and/or through subordinate supervisors and crew leaders. This individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty listed below. The food manufacturing environment is ever-changing, which may result in new, additional, or modified responsibilities to those listed below. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. You should have detailed knowledge of the operating a warehouse department and should be comfortable in WMS systems. You must be well organized, analytical, and excellent in communication.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  1. Lead a large warehouse team through their daily tasks. There will be both tactical and strategic responsibilities such as: handling employee concerns, closely managing inventory through execution of proper transactions, real time problem solving to manage changes, seeking and executing continuous improvements, and managing a labor budget.
  2. Create, change, and implement safety protocols as needed for warehouse staff, including performing after action reviews from incident reporting. Maintain inventory and storage area following allergen stacking and organizing warehousing areas to promote safety, quality, and productivity.
  3. Monitor inventory and transactions to ensure proper service to production, proper rotations, and to control dumps.
  4. Interact cross-departmentally to ensure customer deadlines are met and services are adequately provided.
  5. Review production orders and schedules to estimate worker hours and manage department operations to execute the shift plan to meet both internal and external plans.
  6. Review operating reports to resolve operational and inventory problems to ensure minimum cost and prevent operational delays. This includes transaction accuracy, production downtime, rotation reports, etc. and correct issues immediately.
  7. Coordinate flow of materials through department. Inspect inventory and transactions to ensure proper FIFO is taking place.
  8. Ability to step in and make changes as needed to complete the orders for the shift.
  9. Must be able to work effectively as a team player, with the ability to interact across departmental boundaries, minimizing conflict and maximizing good will across all company departments.
  10. Develop or revise standard operational and working practices and observe workers to ensure compliance with standards.
  11. Must adhere and enforce all HACCP and Food Safety policies, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's). Must comply with all policies regarding Employee Safety and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  1. Job experience: minimum of 3 years of management experience or demonstrated equivalent.
  2. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  3. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
  4. Warehouse Management Systems Experience.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  1. Ability to develop procedures, job descriptions, and other necessary documents, and keep them current.
  2. Be familiar with food-related requirements such as: GMP's, HACCP, SSOP's, OSHA, and USDA.
  3. Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays and flexible schedules as needed.
  4. Must be familiar with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook) and have a general competency in computer operation.
  5. Must comply with all policies regarding Employee Safety and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  6. Forklift/electric pallet jack experience
  7. ERP experience (Microsoft Dynamics-Axapta)
  8. RF Scanning.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL ASPECTS :

  1. Stand and walk for an extended period of time during scheduled shift.
  2. Work in a refrigerated room with temperature ranging from 36-40 degrees Fahrenheit
  3. Work in a wet environment.
  4. Must wear personal protective equipment at all times.
  5. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
