CareVet is offering a guaranteed base and bonus combination of $200k in your first year with Our Family Vet as a full time DVM team member. This opportunity is for an experienced veterinarian and full time doctor, hospital located in Jacksonville, TX. In addition to our customizable compensation package, this position offers a production bonus plan, clinical support, schedule flexibility, 401k match, access to our vacation plan, and "true" paid time off.

About the Position

Our Family Vet - Jacksonville is looking for an experienced small animal Veterinarian to join our team! The ideal candidate will have some hands on experience, be personable and a team player.

Our Family Vet - Jacksonville is part of a three building hospital group. At this location, we offer small animal services to include wellness care, nutrition and diagnostic work, surgery/dental care, nutrition and end of life care.

Responsibilities:
  • Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems
  • Treat and dress wounds
  • Perform surgery on animals
  • Test for and vaccinate against diseases
  • Operate medical equipment, such as x-ray machines
  • Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments
  • Prescribe medication
  • Work closely in collaboration with Team Members to provide high quality care
Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
  • Licensure in the state/s candidate will be working
  • Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
  • Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
  • Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
  • Strong fondness and understanding of animals
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of animal behavior
  • Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals
