Job Description

Job Summary:


The Training Specialist will be responsible for leading training needs assessments, designing comprehensive training curricula, developing training materials, and evaluating training initiatives. This role requires strong project management, communication, and relationship management skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and deliver impactful training programs.

Responsibilities:


- Lead and conduct training needs assessments to identify the needs of all end-users.
- Design a comprehensive curriculum for the training initiative, including all necessary training resources.
- Develop training materials for all end-users, including guides, facilitation material, online modules, etc.
- Conduct evaluation of training initiative to determine required supports for continuous learning.
- Provide expertise with e-learning authoring tools.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, stakeholder working groups, and project team members.
- Provide leadership and apply knowledge of adult education theories, principles, and practices.
- Liaise with development and Quality Assurance teams.
- Present complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Participate in quality assurance testing and review processes.
- Facilitate and/or support facilitators with classroom sessions (in-person/virtual).
- Manage and escalate issues in a timely manner.

Required Skills & Certifications:


- Experience facilitating adult learning programs using a variety of learning delivery methods.
- Experience developing training materials for all end-users, including guides, facilitation material, online modules, etc.
- Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools, learning management systems, and MS Office.
- Knowledge and experience with Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, and presentation skills.
- Effective consulting skills to engage with all stakeholders.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:


- Knowledge of adult education theories, principles, and practices.
- Knowledge and experience with Digital Service Standard, Ontario Design System, Service Design Playbook, OPS Change Management practices.

Special Considerations:


- This position requires working onsite 3 days a week and remotely 2 days a week.
- No extensions to the contract will be allowed.
