Job Description

SUMMARY:

We are looking for a diligent full-time Tax Accountant to join our Finance department. The Tax Accountant's responsibilities include maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with budget and close processes, conducting internal audits, and maintaining and assisting with tax records and documentation. You will also be assisting the Controller as needed and responding to information requests by management and for auditing purposes.

To be successful as Tax Accountant, you should be able to accurately maintain a general ledger and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). An outstanding staff accountant should also have excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills. This position typically reports to the Controller.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Finance:

• Maintaining tax records.
• Following up with tax letters from Federal, Local & State governments.
• Assisting with quarterly tax estimates calculations.
• Assisting with year-end tax workpaper and documentation.
• Assisting with unclaimed property.
• Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
• Preparing journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly closing processes.
• Compile, organize, analyze and report information related to the Company’s financial matters.
• Prepare and maintain Budget and Cashflow forecasts.
• Study trends and historical data and use the insight to make financial recommendations and/or develop forecasts.
• Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Meeting financial processing and reporting deadlines.
• Responding to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits.
• Ensuring the general ledger and financial statements comply GAAP rules and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced level skills in Excel to perform analysis.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Working knowledge of GAAP.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to work in a collaborative manner in a fast-paced team-based environment.
• High attention to detail, critical thinking and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working as a Staff Accountant.
• Experience with full-cycle accounting, month-end closing procedures.
• Experience with Data analysis.
• Private Accounting experience preferred.
• CPA is preferred.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
• IRS Registered Agent preferred.

Job Type: Full-time.

Pay: From $85,000.00 per year.
