Job Description

Our team is experiencing exciting growth within our established Construction Management practice, and we are seeking a new Construction Inspector to join our team. As a Construction Inspector at our project site in Las Vegas, NV, you'll be responsible for Quality Assurance services in addition to other contract management and administrative tasks. Services include all aspects of construction quality assurance and oversight of facility and infrastructure renovation and include oversight of incidental environmental projects associated with the primary requirements.

You'll inspect construction methods and workmanship to ensure that contractors build roadways, bridges, traffic signals and related roadway structures in accordance with plans and specifications. Utilizing your expertise you will inspect traffic control setup and devices to ensure compliance with approved traffic control plans. You’ll be expected to perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.

Primary Responsibilities

• Monitor construction progress, recommend progress payments, attend construction ownership and review meetings, and prepare/process construction progress reports.

• Monitors project phasing and traffic control plans and ensures compliance with approved safety standards inspects barricades as required moves traffic control devices and barricades.

• Prepare digital photo documentation. Include photo documentation of site(s) and building(s) under investigation, field activities, and sample locations.

• Attend and/or support meetings and teleconferences with the owner and/or government representative(s).

• Perform construction quality assurance services and confirm work by the construction contractor is fulfilling the obligations of the contract and working in compliance with accepted Quality Control and Health and Safety Plans.

• Participate in weekly job-site meetings and monthly construction progress meetings

• Maintain accurate and detailed records of project progress during all stages of construction.

• Maintains a daily report of work in progress and status of completion and discusses construction related issues with client contact.

• Attends pre-construction meetings and answers questions from contractors and other attendees.

• Assists in engineering -related data collection, inspections, assessments, analysis, and review activities for plan development by others.

• Documents work progress and issues arising throughout scope of project.

• Ensures adequate levels of equipment and materials are assigned to projects; ensures material tests are performed and materials meet required standards.

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• 10+ years in construction inspection experience

• Required to have and maintain a satisfactory driving record

• Able and willing to work day or night shifts and/or flexible schedules including weekends as required to support the project requirements.

• Ability to move up to 50 pounds

• Ability to follow instructions and effectively communicate with contractors and public.

• Ability to read and interpret roadway, structure, and bridge plans and specifications.

• Work under exposure to inclement weather conditions.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

Rail, transit, bridge or highway inspection knowledge

Local municipal construction experience

Experience working on projects with multiple funding sources

Experience with local, State and federal project guidelines
