Ace Hardware - Urgent Sporting Goods PIC Needed

The General Store, a locally owned establishment since 1946, is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Sporting Goods PIC to join our team. As the Sporting Goods Lead, you will play a crucial role in ensuring superior customer service, driving sales, and maintaining a positive work environment. You will have the opportunity to work in a diverse department that caters to outdoor enthusiasts, offering top brands and a wide selection of sporting goods products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Must have experience and knowledge in fishing of all species within the local area.
• Provide positive representation of the store.
• Assist customers in problem-solving and ensure a friendly shopping experience.
• Handle customer complaints and maintain excellent product knowledge.
• Oversee store operations, including inventory management and store profitability.

Store Operations

• Ensure a positive, professional, and safe work environment for all associates.
• Order and maintain desirable product inventory levels to meet store profitability goals.
• Manage inventory shrink and take corrective actions as needed.
• Assist with the maintenance and cleanliness of the store.

Store Support Operations

• Assist with the implementation of Store Support programs.
• Ensure successful Loss Prevention, Safety, and Internal Audits within the department.
• Participate in special projects as assigned by the General Manager.

Hiring and Training of Associates

• Ensure effective training and development of associates.
• Challenge associates to improve merchandising, control expenses, and increase sales.
