Overview:
Are you passionate about social media and mental health? As a Social Media Content Manager Intern, you'll have the chance to drive brand awareness for a new outpatient mental health clinic while embodying our core values of authenticity, humor, compassion, creativity, acceptance, and determination.
In this role, you'll leverage your social media and marketing skills to help build our online presence, connect with the local community, and support our therapists and client referral partners. We're looking for someone who can infuse our online presence with the spirit of our core values, particularly authenticity and humor.
What You'll Do:
As a Social Media Content Manager Intern, you'll work closely with the Clinic Owner to gain hands-on experience by managing our online digital presence. Your responsibilities will include:
Planning: Develop a multi-month social media content calendar with planned posts for each week.
Creating: Design engaging content based on your calendar, ensuring it aligns with our brand voice.
Posting: Schedule content using our social media tool, Soci (training provided).
Engaging: Interact with users on social media, maintaining a tone consistent with our brand values.
Reporting: Generate periodic engagement reports to discuss with the Clinic Owner.
Other: Assist with additional online marketing activities, such as periodic newsletters.
Requirements:
Genuine interest in creating content for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and other social media platforms.
A portfolio demonstrating your experience and success with social media (e.g., website, personal or professional accounts).
Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and efficiently.
Proactive in identifying opportunities and developing solutions.
Passionate about therapy and mental health awareness.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to foster and moderate community engagement.
Creative and analytical, with a willingness to experiment with new ideas.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Strong social media copywriting skills.
Proficiency in creating and editing images and videos using a smartphone or other tools.
A good eye for design.
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and/or Canva.
Weekly Hours:
Approximately 5-15 hours per week.
Time Horizon:
Estimated 2-3 months.

Flexible.
Location:
This is primarily a remote position, though you are welcome to work at the clinic as often as you'd like. Occasional visits to the office may be required for content creation that showcases the clinic or its surroundings.
Compensation:
This is an unpaid internship. However, many universities offer stipends or academic credit for unpaid internships. We encourage you to check with your university career center to explore potential opportunities for academic credit or other arrangements.
