Job Description

Purpose of Position:

Performs primary operation of sewing process using sewing machine or related equipment used for binding, tacking and straight stitch. Other assembly processes include cutting, gluing, grommeting and hand assembly of products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow all safety precautions and work safely
• Maintain a basic sewing process ie; changing / threading needles; changing bobbins, securing attachments
• Perform process steps in the manner instructed
• Maintain high quality of workmanship with attention to detail
• Achieve acceptable daily output
• Maintain excellent attendance, including overtime when needed
• Perform quality control checks
• Assure that process area remains clean and organized
• Provide feedback to area supervision on performance of process and equipment
• Other activities as instructed that will support improved safety, quality, and delivery

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Demonstrated aptitude / ability

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in an industrial or commercial setting as a sewer or seamstress and / or willingness to participate in Team Wendy training program
• Experience with industrial sewing equipment such as Juki (or similar) sewing and tacking machines
• Garment-making, finishing skills and detail work experience (a plus!)
• Understanding of patterns, fabric cutting and prep (a plus!)
• Detail oriented, focused on consistent quality work
