Cedar Park Med is hiring experienced Registered Nurses for a Adult Cardiac/Trauma Surgical Step Down Unit. This is a high-acuity setting ideal for nurses with trauma and surgical experience who thrive in fast-paced environments.
Schedule/Shift: 13 week contract. 12hrs, Night Shifts available. Every other weekend and some holidays required; set schedules, no time off requests longer than 7 days granted.
Position Overview:
As an RN on our Cardiac/Trauma Surgical Step Down Unit, you will provide high-quality care for patients recovering from cardiac and trauma-related surgical procedures. You will be responsible for accurate patient assessments, continuous monitoring, and implementing treatment plans with minimal orientation and supervision.
Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care in a Level 1 or 2 trauma acute care facility.
Perform nursing assessments, develop care plans, and monitor patient status.
Administer medications and treatments per physician orders.
Document patient care accurately in the EPIC Electronic Medical Records system.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal outcomes.
Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients, families, and staff.
Requirements:
Current New York State RN license.
BLS certification (with ability to renew as required).
Minimum 1.5 years of recent acute care experience (within the past 2 years) in a hospital of similar size and level.
Previous experience in Level 1 or 2 trauma facilities required.
EPIC EMR experience preferred.
