Job Description

Preco is hiring a Quality Manager for their Somerset, Wisconsin location.

 
The Quality Manager is responsible for developing, administering, and maintaining quality assurance processes, procedures and activities required to ensure Preco’s compliance with customer requirements and applicable quality standards and regulatory requirements to meet ISO and SQF Practitioner requirements.  This position employs quality assurance methodologies in support of sales, engineering, and operation objectives.  The Quality Manager is also the leader of the quality department, who is required to provide drive, leadership, and great communication skills to support our expectation of a culture of continuous improvement.  

 
Preco is a leading designer and manufacturer of precision automated processing systems for high-speed and high-accuracy cutting, perforating, welding, and other specialized industrial processing applications. With our proprietary die cutting and laser-based manufacturing capabilities, Preco has also become one of the largest contract manufacturing service (CMS) providers in North America.

 
Key Responsibilities:  

  • Maintain ISO 9001:2015, ISO 13485:2016, SQF and FDA Compliance
  • Partnering with management and driving accountability to standardize quality management systems and metrics
  • Understand and perform tasks described within the QMS for Management Representative duties and SQF Practitioner.
  • Provide leadership in developing and executing the following processes: Internal Quality Audits, Third Party Audits, Corrective and Preventive Action, Management Review, Calibration, Document and Data Control, Risk Management, Quality Planning, and Control of Nonconforming Material.
  • Lead and facilitate continuous improvement teams via CAPA process.  Coach, as required, to ensure problem solving and continuous improvement tools are deployed within the organization.
  • Assists in supporting and maintaining Preco’s SQF Certification and Food Safety Management Program.
  • Customer liaison and team resource for customer qualification activities.
  • Support Preco training processes by developing and executing training programs in support of our QMS and FSMS.
  • Specifies and maintains QC equipment to ensure conformance to customer specifications.
  • Responsible for accurate output of engineering & shop floor documents.
  • Designs, organizes, and completes employee training programs.
  • Develops, revises, and displays operational goals and educates employees on continuous improvement.
  • Working manager with hands-on execution of quality engineering tools and processes for direct report support, coaching, and development.
  • Drive a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Prepare and distribute internal communications to keep employees informed and engaged. 
  • Completes other tasks as assigned by supervisor


Job Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor of Science degree in the Technology field
  • 8-10 years of experience in quality
  • 5+ years of experience in managing a team
  • Experience in an organization certified to ISO 9001 or ISO13485. 
  • Deep understanding of quality management systems and standards, including supplier quality development programs.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to gain alignment across a cross-functional team.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, written communication, and computer skills.
  • Strong aptitude for continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.
  • 10% Travel
