Now Hiring: Quality Manager 

• Location: Washington, Indiana
• Shift: Day Shift – 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM (1-hour lunch)
• Pay: $62K - $65K per year
• Type: Direct Hire

First Call Direct Hire is recruiting for our great client for the role of Quality Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to guide and develop a group lead and department in the proper implementation of the Quality Manual and systems to ensure plant parts meet or exceed customer expectations.

What You Will Do:

• Collaborate Across Departments: Work with other departments to ensure a quality standard that exceeds customer expectations while maintaining profitability.
• Test & Release Management: Interpret test results, compare them to established specifications and control limits, and make recommendations on the appropriateness of data for release.
• Process Analysis: Analyze processes for improvements, failure modes, stability, and capability.
• Documentation: Complete all necessary documentation to support testing procedures, including data capture forms, equipment logbooks, and inventory forms.
• Issue Resolution: Facilitate out-of-specification and failure investigations and approve or deny recommended corrective actions.
• Regulatory Support: Supply quality control data for regulatory submissions.
• Maintain Standards: Ensure cleanliness and safety standards are upheld in the plant.
• Audits & Assessments: Participate in internal assessments and audits as required
• Technical Liaison: Serve as a technical liaison between Quality and other departments, vendors, or contractors.
• ISO Compliance: Ensure the department maintains ISO compliance.
• Cost Savings: Continuously identify opportunities to reduce costs.

Your Skills & Qualifications:

• Quality Audit Techniques: Working knowledge of quality audit methods.
• Math & Analytical Skills: Proficient in basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and understanding of geometry, charts, and graphs.
• Product & Quality Knowledge: General understanding of product design specifications, functions, and quality standards for finished products and required materials.
• Testing & Inspection: Ability to conduct tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality and performance.
• Time Management: Effective time management and multitasking skills.
• Team & Independent Work: Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
• Organizational & Critical Thinking: Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (Japanese is a plus).
• Adaptability: A hands-on self-starter with a strong work ethic who can thrive in a fast-paced, multicultural, and changing production environment.
• Relationship Building: Ability to create excellent working relationships internally and externally, with good assertiveness and negotiation skills.

Work Conditions:

• Environment: Open office in an automotive plant setting with moderate to loud noise.
• PPE Requirements: Must wear appropriate PPE (e.g., safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, hearing protection); personal attire standards may apply.
• Physical Demands: Ability to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods, speak in front of groups, and occasionally lift up to 60 lbs.

Education & Experience:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (additional trade education and quality certifications are preferred).
• Experience:
  • 0-2 years of Quality Control experience (education may substitute).
  • Experience launching Quality Control programs for new initiatives is preferred.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, tooling, quality control methods, and statistical process control (SPC).
  • Experience with injection plastics and urethane processes is a plus.
  • Previous exposure to a multicultural office environment is beneficial.
