Dean's Professional Services is actively seeking a qualified Pathology Referral Assistant to join a leading hospital facility in Houston, TX . This is a great opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven healthcare team focused on excellence, efficiency, and patient-centered care.

Position Overview:

As a Pathology Referral Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting the pathology department by managing tissue slides and paraffin blocks, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and coordinating materials for internal and external delivery. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and prior lab support or clerical experience.

Key Responsibilities:

* Organize and file patient tissue slides and paraffin blocks for archival and retrieval.
* Process and track material requests using the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
* Prepare and package pathology materials for shipment to external facilities.
* Ensure safe and accurate delivery of pathology materials and departmental mail.
* Assist with general clerical duties including data entry, phone handling, and filing.
* Sort, distribute, and deliver mail and packages within the department and hospital.

Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
* Minimum 1 year of experience working with lab materials, specifically tissue slides and blocks (Required)
* Clerical and computer experience (Preferred)

Job Details:

* Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
* Compensation: $12/hour + full benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401k)
* Employment Type: Full-time, Temp-to-Hire
