**Mortgage Loan Underwriter**

We are seeking a dedicated Mortgage Loan Underwriter to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will evaluate borrower financial and credit information alongside property valuations to inform lending decisions using established Conventional, Jumbo, and Government underwriting guidelines. You will collaborate closely with all members of the production team to bring loans to closing.

- Option to work from a local office or remotely

**Responsibilities and Duties:**
- Underwrite and make decisions on agency conforming, jumbo, FHA/VA residential mortgage loans.
- Verify and analyze all necessary financial information and documentation to ensure loan files are complete.
- Review appraisal reports to identify and resolve any discrepancies.
- Perform thorough analysis of applicant's income, expenses, assets, credit reports, and property valuations to confirm borrower qualification for loans.
- Calculate qualifying ratios and determine creditworthiness, providing risk opinions.
- Handle multiple loan files simultaneously and prepare detailed findings reports.
- Communicate effectively both in writing and verbally, and thrive in a team environment.

**Qualifications/Requirements:**
- Experience underwriting VA, FHA, Conventional, and Jumbo Loans.
- Minimum of 4 years of underwriting experience.
- Experience with FNMA, FHLMC, and Non-Conforming mortgages is a plus.
- Proficiency with Desktop Underwriter (DU) and Loan Prospector/Loan Product Advisor (LP/LPA).
- Strong understanding of the mortgage lending process.
- Ability to perform necessary loan calculations (DTI, LTV, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
