Millwright & Rigging Estimator – Industrial Contracting

Location: Buffalo, NY (Onsite)

Salary Range: $100,000 – $140,000 per year (based on experience)

We are currently seeking an experienced Millwright & Rigging Estimator to join our Buffalo, NY division. This position plays a key role in our project success and offers excellent opportunities for professional growth and advancement.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for industrial construction projects.
• Develop detailed bids and proposals based on thorough cost analysis and project documentation.
• Collaborate with project managers and teams to ensure accurate forecasting and successful project completion.
• Estimate and manage millwright, mechanical, and rigging projects , including machinery installation, relocation, dismantling, and full plant moves.
• Perform structural steel material take-offs and labor estimates for fabrication and installation.
• Manage job costing and construction accounting , providing financial oversight and cost control.
• Assemble RFQ packages for subcontractors and vendors, reviewing and analyzing received quotations.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, ISOs, and contract specifications .
• Apply advanced rigging knowledge involving cranes, lift trucks, jack-and-slide systems, and hydraulic gantries.
• Use millwright expertise in layout, machine alignment, leveling, and assembly/disassembly operations.

Qualifications

• Relevant technical designation or degree in Engineering, Construction, or related discipline (or equivalent field experience).
• Heavy industrial or steel mill experience strongly preferred.
• Proven experience in rigging, machinery assembly, and millwright estimating .
• Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities; able to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) ; familiarity with estimating tools is an asset.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, project documentation, and industrial specifications .

Compensation & Benefits

• Annual Salary: $100,000 – $140,000 (based on experience)
