Job Description

A privately held Metals Recycling Company seeks a Maintenance & Operations Manager to oversee the production, equipment, and staff of the recycling facility in the Midwest. This individual will play a key leadership role in ensuring operational efficiency, equipment reliability, and high-quality output across multiple processing lines.

Responsibilities:

• Direct daily shredder and processing operations to achieve production goals.
• Lead and mentor a team of 10+ employees, fostering a safe, efficient, and high-performing work environment.
• Oversee fleet and fixed-asset maintenance, ensuring maximum uptime and compliance with safety standards.
• Manage inventory accuracy and product quality, from raw intake through finished materials.
• Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program, along with a work order system to streamline repairs and scheduling.
• Establish and manage inventory systems for wear parts and spare parts, ensuring availability and cost control.
• Coordinate maintenance and operational support across shearing and baling operations.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years proven leadership experience in metals recycling
• Strong technical knowledge of large-scale scrap metal processing equipment
• Demonstrated success in managing teams, production targets, and maintenance programs
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to balance production and maintenance priorities
