The Lead Payment Specialist serves as a senior resource responsible for ensuring the team of Payment Specialists are performing against Enterprise Payment and Income Center (EPIC) processing targets. This position assigns daily tasks and project to payment specialists, monitors, and reviews the team’s performance and provides coaching, direction, guidance, feedback, training, and support. The incumbent will provide leadership in the area of customer and vendor billing/invoicing, payment processing, and check requests, etc. and responds professionally to inquiries requests from BGS stakeholders, providers, individuals, and vendors while ensuring excellent customer service and support. The incumbent provides administrative business support to the EPIC team and analyzes/triages incoming service request types and payments to determine appropriate routing processes.

Minimum Qualifications

Two (2) years of experience conducting bookkeeping and/or accounting clerical procedures related to accounts payable or check/cash collection.

Experience must demonstrate:

  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Skill in analyzing and interpreting financial records and data


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in working with payment processing and billing/invoice, etc.
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint)
  • Excellent organizational skills; accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures
