The Landscape Architect manages the design and planning services of the Division. This position plans and designs the development of cemeteries and cremation gardens per client’s specifications, photos and examples
• Oversees all Landscape Architecure related projects including designing, reviewing, correcting and approving proposals and construction drawings for cemetery planning and/or cremation gardens.
• Meets with prospective and established clients and representatives, answers questions pertaining to design and building code concerns/issues.
• Travels to job sites, attends project meetings, clarifies construction drawings with field personnel and inspects construction.
• Researches building permit applications and design based to meet code.
• Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of employee(s) to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished. Mentors, coaches, trains and develops team.
• Additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architectural studies, construction management or related field
• Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB) – for multi-state registrations preferred
• Landscape Architectural Registration (w/ “Home State”) required/preferred
• 5+ years Designing and managing Design consultant contracts experience
• 5+ years supervisory and management experience in Design-Build of commercial projects; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5+ years in a leadership role
• Routine travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
• Knowledge of national and local building codes.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Lumion and other computer aided drawing system(s)
• Ability to interpret and apply building codes
• Familiar with AIA documents
• Understand and able to manage various engineering consultants
• Basic degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
• Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
• Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
• Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear and see.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
