LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT

Abaci Consulting, Inc. is seeking a full-time licensed Landscape Architect to join our team in Grimes, Iowa. This position will serve as a leader for technicians and team members in the preparation of land development plans, reports, and proposals in the Des Moines metro and throughout Central Iowa.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work to develop Landscape Architecture design clients
• Develop land use concept plans
• Work with clients and team members on project design of residential and commercial subdivisions including lot and street layout, grading, stormwater management, erosion control, sanitary and storm sewer, water mains, etc.
• Commercial site planning
• Deliver complete and accurate project design assignments within schedule and budget parameters
• Collaborate with clients, planners, engineers, technicians, and surveyors to assure successful project completion
• Ensure project compliance with rules and regulations, laws and codes, policies and procedures

BACKGROUND, EXPERIENCE & CREDENTIALS

• Bachelor of Landscape Architecture or a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture
• Minimum 10 years of Landscape Architecture experience in the Site Development/Land Planning field
• Iowa Professional Landscape Architecture (or ability to obtain upon employment)
• AutoCAD, Civil3D, and Adobe Creative Suite experience required
• Prior experience reading and understanding construction plans, including sheet references and layering required

• Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to detail
• Ability to maintain relationships with clients, government representatives, contractors, and vendors
• Interact and communicate effectively and professionally with other team members
• Desire for professional improvement
