This is a remote work position, but candidate may choose to work at ICJIA’s downtown Chicago office during the agency’s regular business hours  Monday thru Friday (8:30 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.) pending availability.

This is a full-time position. The selected candidate must work 37.5 hours  per week. The selected candidate will start as soon as possible.

This position is  TEMPORARY  and does NOT include state benefits.

Are you passionate about community-based violence intervention and prevention? ICJIA is looking to bring on board a dynamic Human Resources Consultant in our Human Resources Department. This person will be responsible for assessing and re-engineering the agency’s staffing plan; develop a recruitment strategy plan; draft and assist with succession plans . The ideal candidate is extremely organized, knowledgeable, hard-working, and passionate about all aspects of Human Resources. 1. Candidate must possess a strong understanding of labor laws and regulations.

2. Candidate must be able to perform gap analysis of HR functionality and infrastructure and ability to communicate recommendations to agency stakeholders via presentation and written report.

Minimum Qualifications 1

1. Minimum Master’s Degree in human resources or a related field/ 10+ years working in field that is educational equivalent.

2. 10 years’ experience in the HR profession, with proven experience in organizational staffing assessment and plan development, recruitment, and infrastructure efficiency.

Preferred Qualifications 1

1. 8 years professional knowledge of human resources personnel programs and service objectives, activities and operational systems preferred.

2. 8 years of proven ability to identify and analyze administrative and procedural problems and recommend an effective course of action preferred .

Preferred Qualifications 3

3. 8 years of professional experience formulating, implementing and assessing new and revised methods, procedures and performance standards preferred.

4. 8 years of professional experience identifying and recommending departmental personnel policy and procedure improvements.

5. Requires ability to effectively communicate, advise and consult with others, and articulate detailed instructions orally and in writing.

6. 8 years of professional experience developing and cultivating cooperative working relationships with agency personnel and the general public.

Agency Statement

ICJIA responds to community needs with research and federal and state grants administration. ICJIA administers over 100 million dollars in grants, including the R3 (restore, reinvest, renew) grants (funded through the tax on legalized cannabis), state violence prevention grants, and federal grants including under the Violence Against Women Act and the Victims of Crime Act. ICJIA convenes groups and collaborates on efforts to reform the criminal justice system. ICJIA leads criminal justice reform efforts by supporting policy makers through research.
