Job Description

General Description/Purpose

Under direction from the Supervisor or Foreman, performs varied types of manual and unskilled laboring work, does other related duties as required to assist installation projects or productions processes.

Essential Job Functions

• Operate and care for construction equipment and machines.
• Preparing installation, production construction sites, materials, and tools.
• Help equipment operators, technicians, carpenters, and other skilled labor when necessary.
• Prep construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards.
• Load or unload construction materials.
• Put together and take apart temporary structures, such as pallets,  materials, production areas and scaffolding.
• Assist craft workers, technicians and supervisors.
• Assembling and breaking down barricades, temporary structures, and construction settings.
• Drilling holes, set nuts and bolts, etc.
• Installing metal structures, like belts and conveyors , aligning and leveling.

Required Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or Trades School certificate preferred.
• 2+ years of experience working as a helper general laborer in the construction or manufacturing industry.
• Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks.
• Certified and able to drive a forklift preferred.
• Initiative and able to work independently with limited supervision.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift heavy loads, work in awkward spaces safely and stand for long hours. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
