Job Description

Allied Reliability is seeking a Fleet Manager responsible for managing the operation and maintenance of the organization’s fleet of motor vehicles to ensure that the operation meets or exceeds customer expectations. The Fleet Manager oversees scheduling and dispatch for vehicles and drivers and evaluates, maintains and recommends new purchases/leases, as applicable. The Fleet Manager wil also develop and maintain vendor and service provider relationships for fuel, maintenance and other essential operational services. The FM develops and implements safety, preventative maintenance and accident prevention programs and ensures regulatory compliance and reporting requirements. 

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure execution of the daily delivery plan, working as a team member with other departments to maximize efficiencies/production.
  • Manage driver schedules to maximize profits and efficiencies
  • Develops and manages the fleet budget
  • Register and license all vehicles under fleet responsibility
  • Interface with regulatory agencies as required, ensure compliance and reporting requirements are met
  • Maximize profits/fleet efficiency
  • Develop strategies for greater fuel efficiency and cost savings
  • Maintain detailed records of vehicle maintenance, servicing and inspection
  • Provide leadership to ensure all company safety rules and regulations in accordance with regulatory agencies are observed by employees. This includes planning the necessary resources in manpower and budgeting to accomplish site safety goals and administer safety initiatives
Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of Fleet Management/Logistics
  • Knowledge of people management skills and working in a union environment
  • Experience in mining and/or heavy manufacturing industry
  • Technical credibility, as it relates to industry, fleet management, and maintenance
  • Demonstrated ability to assess organizational and people issues, provide coaching and mentoring, and deliver solutions that improve facility performance.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, DOT and fleet-specific regulations, licensing, registration and reporting requirements.
