Job Description

Finishing Department:

• 12 Hour Shifts (Temp-to-Hire), Night shift (6p-6a). Working 3 days one week and 4 the next (front half or back half of the week). No mandatory OT here. Night shift rate is $16/hour.
• We also have seasonal (not temp-to-hire) openings on an 8 hour shift basis: 1 for 1st Shift (6am-2pm M-F), 1 for 2nd shift (2pm-10pm M-F), and 1 for 3rd Shift (10pm-6am, S-Th). The day shift rate is $14 and the other two are $15. These are anticipated to last until the new year.

Under the direction of the Finishing Manager/Supervisor, performs operations to customer specifications. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (the items listed reflect management’s assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned): 1. Assist with the setup and operation of stitchers, folders, perfect binder, polybagger, cutters, mailers, shrink wrappers, tipper, CT trimmer, drills and other finishing equipment. 2. Understand the job ticket and other specifications of an assigned job. 3. Understand the standards as explained on the goal sheets and work toward achieving the goals. 4. Feed pockets, recognition of and sorting of different forms. 5. Jogging all paper into uniform lifts. 6. Down-pile that consists of sorting, palletizing and bagging of mail per postal regulations and/or client specifications. 7. Make boxes, box finished products, make labels, stuff envelopes, jog, stack and sort product. 8. Conducting periodic quality checks. 9. Monitor production and quality. 10.Understand customer packaging specifications and pack skids per instructions. 11.Understand and comply with safety procedures regarding the operation of the equipment and the organizational policies. 12.Participate in, support and drive 6S and lean activities in the finishing department
