The St. Louis Public Schools Foundation seeks an individual with strong project management skills and a passion for youth-centered programming. This individual will work closely with the Foundation’s Chief Impact Officer to monitor contributions and transactions that support funded initiatives in areas that are aligned with the Foundation’s strategy. Foundation supported initiatives fall under three priority areas: (1) health, wellness, and safety; (2) preK-8 literacy; (3) post-secondary readiness and opportunity. The ideal candidate should understand the mission of the Foundation and be able to articulate our vision and goals.

Established in 1998 as an independently governed not-for-profit organization, the St. Louis Public Schools Foundation mobilizes community resources and expertise for the benefit of students in the St. Louis Public Schools. Since its inception, the Foundation has raised and distributed millions to support SLPS students and has served as an important catalyst of reform and innovation.

Part of the strategic plan is dedicated to diversifying our funding resources and increasing support from individual donors and family foundations. This position is responsible for supporting programs, advancement and business operations of the Foundation.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide school-based constituents in accessing their Foundation accounts
  • Enter gifts and reconcile daily and monthly gift reports with the accountants
  • Process donor gift acknowledgments and year end tax letters
  • Design queries and exports for data analysis, donor information and constituent lists
  • Maintain database integrity through regular data audits, elimination of duplicate records, production and verification of financial and fundraising reports
  • Manage data entry process by working closely with the team to identify and track key information
  • Develop monthly comparative projects reports to track fundraising progress for annual giving and individual school funds
  • Support special events and other stewardship activities

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least a year experience in donor stewardship or client database management
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proven track record in managing multiple donor projects and priorities
  • Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to multitask with a very high level of output and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
  • Well-organized and self-directed
  • Strong organizational abilities with good judgment in establishing priorities and meeting deadlines
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
  • College degree or equivalent educational experience
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends at key times of the year
