Nesco Data Center & Infrastructure is seeking Data Center (Colo & General Facility) cablers in the Greater Dallas TX area.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Data Center Cabling Technician to join our team and manage the power cabling infrastructure within the Power Hall of our data center. This role involves installing, terminating, and maintaining high-voltage and low-voltage power cabling, ensuring reliable power delivery to IT equipment, cooling systems, and other critical components. The ideal candidate will have expertise in power distribution, grounding, and cable management while adhering to safety and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Power Cabling Infrastructure

• Install and manage high-voltage feeds from utility sources and backup generators.
• Maintain busways and distribution panels for efficient power distribution from UPS and PDUs.
• Handle low-voltage power cabling for control systems, monitoring devices, and networking equipment.

Low-Voltage Cabling & Setups

• Set up and maintain DC power systems for telecom equipment and battery backups.
• Run control and monitoring cables for Client, environmental sensors, and power monitoring devices.
• Install and manage fiber and Ethernet cabling for network connectivity between power monitoring units and the data center network.

Terminations

• Perform high-voltage terminations , including lugs, crimping, and insulation for switchgear, transformers, and PDUs.
• Conduct low-voltage terminations , such as RJ45 punch-downs, fiber optic splicing, and DC cable connections.
• Ensure proper grounding and bonding to prevent electrical faults and enhance safety.

Installation & Best Practices

• Implement effective cable management using trays, conduits, and ladder racks to keep power and data cabling organized.
• Maintain accurate labeling and documentation for all installed cables to ensure easy identification and maintenance.
• Design and install redundant power feeds for critical infrastructure to ensure fault tolerance.
• Adhere to compliance and safety regulations (e.g., NEC, IEEE, and local electrical codes) and follow proper arc flash protection protocols.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• years of experience in data center power cabling, electrical work, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution systems, UPS, PDUs, and grounding techniques .
• Familiarity with low-voltage DC power systems, fiber optics, and Ethernet cabling .
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation .
• Hands-on experience with cable terminations, crimping, splicing, and labeling .
• Understanding of NEC, IEEE, and other electrical safety codes and standards .
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (lifting, climbing, working in confined spaces).
• Certifications such as BICSI, OSHA, or an electrical license are a plus.
