Job Title: Controller 

Location: Jacksonville, FL

Salary: $100,000 - $150,000

THIS IS AN ON-SITE ROLE 

Responsibilities: 

  • In order to ensure that policies and IFRS and GAAP requirements are followed, oversee the accounts on the balance sheet and income statement, general ledgers, cost centers, and reporting systems. 

  • Ensure that the journal entry and account reconciliations are accurate and comprehensive at month's end.

  • Collaborate with the executive team and owners of the control processes to guarantee that the control environment is appropriate and keeps becoming better. 

  • Collaborate closely with local finance management and external auditors to guarantee timely audit completion. 

  • In charge of the company's and the Managed Care entities' monthly actual financials; frequently, this involves collaborating with the business unit finance team and using a matrix organization.

  • Oversees and leads a group of financial experts, handling tasks including recruiting, personnel development, performance management, and retention. All personnel in the finance industry are required to perform this position and get coaching, feedback, and development. Expected to regularly build the team by giving prompt, thoughtful, and targeted feedback. Make the team responsible for its efforts.

  • Project management and analytical assistance for financial activities and unique initiatives

  • Ability to comprehend and manage various cash flows, including lines of business in relation to the business units; participation in the planning and budgeting process for Managed Care business units, including the distribution of costs to other Managed Care entities

  • Capacity to lead and operate in a multidisciplinary and cross-functional setting, guaranteeing excellent teamwork and superior business acumen

  • Recognize the effects on your direct area of responsibility, but keep in mind the larger financial and business effects as well, such as the strategic implications for each business unit. 

  • The ability to work in a matrix organization, which necessitates financial forecasting and budget submission to group services for funding partner along with managing separate P&L requirements for each business unit with full expectation of understanding the flow of dollars tied to the business model of funding, is necessary in order to monitor internal controls and segregations of financial duties and recommend changes as needed. 

  • Simplify bookkeeping operations while coordinating with finance operations to promote process enhancements and efficiency. Maintain tight timelines and teamwork with executive team members.

  • Work with a meticulous mindset, practicing good financial hygiene, and making sure that other leaders are informed about their role and responsibilities with regard to the budgets. This includes paying close attention to detail, comprehending each direct line item, and collaborating with functional leaders to help them review and comprehend their own budgets. 

  • Thorough knowledge of the operations and financial management of a Third-Party Administrator.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 

  • 7+ years of experience in the healthcare industry 

  • Deep Healthcare/Health Plan/TPA experience 

  • Medicare/Medicaid Experience 

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and IFRS standards 

  • Certified Financial Expert preferred 

  • CPA/CMA Preferred
