LOCATION: Rochester, NY
SUMMARY: You will serve as an innovative, inquisitive, and motivated leader with strong problem-solving and analytical skills. You will oversee various aspects related to the management and optimization of the financial operations within a multi-plant environment, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, and providing strategic financial insights to support decision-making. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross functional teams, provide guidance and support to the finance team and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Oversee multi-plant accounting and financial operations including Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Cost Accounting.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
- Support month-end and year-end close process.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Provide financial analysis and forecasting to support the company’s strategic goals.
- Prepare annual budgets and collaborate cross functionally to implement cost optimization strategies and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Review and analyze key manufacturing statistics. Provide recommendations to operations leadership to optimize performance.
- Review and analyze product profitability by markets, customers or other segmentation to provide insight to support the company’s strategic goals.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of accounting processes and software. Offer recommendations for improvement to leverage data or new tools to support strategic initiatives.
- Present and explain results to various levels of leadership in the organization. Regularly present results at employee meetings.
- Provide guidance and support to the finance team, including training and development opportunities, to foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Accounting (B.A./B.S.) from four-year university and 7-10 years of experience with demonstration of progressive responsibilities. CPA, CMA or Master’s Degree desired.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, general accounting, internal controls and company policy.
Ability to contribute to discussions of general business issues, to work well with a wide range of clients, from senior executives to operating personnel, and to work independently as well as to lead a project from conception to completion.
Self-Motivation – ability to engage in all activities required in a rapidly growing environment focused on risk management, revenue enhancement and essential operating income performance.
Intellectual curiosity- Comfortable challenging the status quo and identifying new approaches to existing processes.
Strong interpersonal skills. Sound business acumen, with the ability to think strategically in addition to tactically. Ability to build and grow relationships.
Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively from plant leadership to plant floor.
Possess a positive attitude and establish good working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
High sense of urgency in providing strong level of service and follow-through.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to engage in all activities required in a rapidly growing environment focused on cost containment, revenue enhancement, and essential operating income performance. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Critical thinking and strong business acumen.
