Job Description

Lead the composite layup room in daily operations, facilitate tasks, and take ownership of curing operations and freezer related tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities
Guide employees in composite layup operations through training and continuous improvement. Layup daily with Lead responsibilities on top of normal daily tasks. 

• Is qualified as a Senior layup technician which has the technical abilities to layup complex geometries while working with multiple types of composite materials. 
• Execute and follow all related documentation including travelers, work instructions, quality procedures, inspection sheets, and drawings as applicable to the work being performed. 
• Examine products for defects; perform required tests, measurements, make adjustments, and verify specified tolerances. 
• Maintain schedule, throughput and department capacity. 
• Manage and maintain all related autoclave, and oven activities. 
• Manage and maintain all related cold storage advanced composite material. 
• Ensure all Personal Protective Equipment is utilized. 
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Coordinate with Engineering Department to aid with job planning, traveler creation and work instruction maintenance. 
• Conduct training for new or updated processes and training of new employees.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of a leadership position and 5+ years of composite manufacturing or composite repair experience preferred.
• Education (High School Diploma or GED)
• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively to management, peers, and subordinates.
• Highly detailed
• Read and interpret Customer and internal Blueprints, diagrams, process sheets, and schematic drawings. 
• Excellent hand skills
• Team player
• Willing to work flexible hours and over time
• Good mechanical aptitude
• Knowledge of industrial Aerospace manufacturing equipment
