Job Summary:

Bechtel is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Communications Associate to tell compelling stories that reflect our projects, people, and values across internal and external platforms. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can develop engaging content and help shape social media and marketing campaigns that showcase Bechtel’s people, projects, and purpose. This role requires curiosity, collaboration, and a commitment to high-quality storytelling that aligns with Bechtel’s brand and business goals. The ideal candidate is skilled in social media and marketing with experience creating engaging content, including copy, visuals, and other creative assets. This individual will know how to leverage social platforms to enhance brand visibility, highlight company milestones, and engage target audiences.

This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.

 

Major Responsibilities:

• Support execution of Bechtel’s social media and marketing strategy across platforms and our corporate website, including crafting compelling social posts, visuals, etc., that resonate with target audiences and reflect Bechtel’s values and achievements.
• Collaborate with teams across Bechtel to identify and amplify project milestones, as well as evergreen storytelling content and thought leadership.
• Monitor and analyze social media metrics to inform strategy and optimize performance.
• Stay current on emerging social media trends and platforms and proactively apply them to enhance Bechtel’s digital presence.
• Help maintain a consistent brand voice and tone across all social content.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• University Hire with less than 1 year of experience or 4-5 years of relevant work experience.
• Must have the right to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including writing for social media and other online platforms.
• Experience with social media tools is essential. These include, but are not limited to: LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, Threads, BlueSky, Meltwater, Canva.
• Passion for innovation, storytelling, and digital trends.
• Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite is a must.
• Strong time management and interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional project management skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work with executive leadership with maturity, confidence, and sound judgment.
• Obsessive about copyediting and proofreading.
• Demonstrated ability to complete assignments under daily or weekly deadline pressure.
