CNC Machinist | Delta Township, MI

Salary Range: $49,000 - $81,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Delta Township seeking CNC Machinists who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines (lathes, mills, grinders) according to specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and G-code programs.
• Monitor machine operations, detect malfunctions, and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality.
• Perform in-process and final inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments.
• Load and unload raw materials and finished parts from CNC machinery.
• Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and minor troubleshooting.
• Adjust machine settings to control speed, feed, and depth of cut.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience operating and setting up CNC mills and/or lathes.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.
• Solid understanding of G-code and M-code programming, including editing and optimizing.
• Skilled in using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) for quality control.
• Experience with tool selection, offsets, and routine machine maintenance.
• Strong shop math and problem-solving abilities.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks CAM, Fusion 360)
• Familiarity with advanced quality inspection tools (e.g., CMM operation, optical comparator)
• Basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles or 5S methodology
• Experience with specific exotic materials or complex geometries
