This is a full-time position with benefits.

Responsibilities of Billing and Insurance Coordinator

• Studies the insurance plans that are used most frequently with patients to understand the various nuances of each plan in order to communicate more effectively.

• Educates patients, as necessary, regarding insurance, their responsibility and basic terminology.

• Processes and submits insurance claims daily for all locations.

• Monitors and follows-up on outstanding claims.

• Provides insurance predetermination documentation to patients if required, contacts the patient to make financial arrangements, and schedules treatment.

• Corresponds with insurance companies to resolve payment delays, requests for additional information, or to discuss treatment that has been denied coverage.

• Handles all inquiries concerning insurance on a daily basis.

• Follows up on Insurance Aging Report and submits claims again, when necessary.

• Runs Aging Report and contacts patients for prompt payment on past due accounts.

• Monitors Credit Balance report, and produces a list of refunds owed to patients to Business Manager monthly.

• Prepares EOD reports and deposits daily 

Requirements of Billing and Insurance Coordinator

• Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in the dental profession and/or insurance billing experience

• Sustained positivity and energy throughout the day

• Communicates clearly with patients and all team members

• Attention to detail

• Professionalism

Compensation and Benefits 

• Wage: $22-27 per hour DOE

• Bonuses based on performance

• 90-Day Review and wage assessment, with potential of increase

• 36-40 hour work week

• Health Insurance Benefit at 30 days, all other benefits eligible after 90-day probation

• 40 hours Vacation (Accrued Annually) doubles at year 3 of service.

• 50 hours sick pay per year.

• 5 paid holidays.
