Job Description

DuBois & King, Inc. is seeking a Resident Engineer / Inspector with approximately 5+ years of experience. This is a construction observation position in our busy and growing aviation division, spanning multiple part time and/or full time projects in the 2025 construction season. Work is centralized at the Las Cruces International Airport in Las Cruces, NM. Experience with AASHTO, NETTCP, NMDOT, and FAA Standards is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities:

• Must be construction-document and drawing literate, with knowledge of all phases of construction
• Review Scopes of Work and equipment pre-purchases for accuracy and completeness
• Assist in the development of the Construction projects.
• Ability to collaborate on a daily basis with the project team
• Enforce quality control policies and inspections.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing needs
• Work with project teams to lead and manage preconstruction coordination
• Outstanding communication and time management skills.
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment
• Accepts and adapts to change in a professionally appropriate and thoughtful manner
• Effectively communicates and listens
• Looks to continually improve and grow
• Organizes and uses meeting time effectively
• Lead by example via a work ethic and effort above-standard in the industry
• Presents ideas in a manner that is clear, concise, and easy to understand
• Regular and predictable attendance
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of field related construction observation experience.
• Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word preferred.
• A strong sense of urgency and initiative.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to act confidently and decisively.
