Title: Assistant Professor of Poultry Science

Position: The Department of Animal Sciences at Purdue University is seeking an Assistant Professor with research interests in poultry science. This is an academic year (9-months, with additional opportunities for summer appointment), tenure track position. Candidates should have a broad understanding of poultry production across sectors and exhibit depth of expertise in one or more disciplines relevant to the industry, such as nutrition, management, ethology, welfare, physiology, digital agriculture, genetics, egg production and processing, or meat production. Researchers who apply integrated approaches and methodologies or One Health approaches () are particularly encouraged to apply as are applicants from various fields including but not limited to animal science, veterinary medicine, agricultural engineering, and agricultural systems, among others.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to develop an internationally recognized and extramurally funded research program, interact with a broad range of faculty, staff and students across campus, and contribute to the teaching mission of the department and university. The candidate will be expected to teach existing undergraduate and/or graduate level courses and mentor undergraduate and graduate students. Course modality is generally in person. The potential may exist for teaching online/distance courses during the academic year. Candidates will also be expected to function as active members of the departmental and university faculty and foster a collegial and inclusive environment.
