SUMMARY The primary purpose of the Administrative Assistantposition is to provide highly responsible administrative support to departmental Faculty and the Department Administrator. The position is responsible for varied extensive duties requiring considerable exercise of independent judgment, initiative and ability to make decisions relative to efficient departmental operations. Responsible for carrying out administrative duties, organizing and coordinating departmental activities related to budgeting, account reconciliations and annual inventory.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting faculty members with administrative tasks including travel arrangements, calendaring, and lab supply ordering.KEY FUNCTIONS · Provides administrative support to departmental faculty.
· Arranges appointments, coordinates travel, and prepares reimbursement requests.
· Maintains current information for assigned faculty - curriculum vitae and periodic journal publications.
· Ensures timely completion of assignments and tasks.
· Assists with grant applications and renewals through administrative support.
· Obtains current information and prepares biographical sketches.
· Ensures proper delivery of grant information to appropriate institutional departments.
· Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATIONRequired: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCERequired: Four years of administrative/secretarial experience. With preferred degree, no experience required.
OTHERRequired: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
