Position: Actuation Test Operator Locations: Rockford, IL 61108 Pay Rate: $28.00-$35.00/hour Shift: 1st Shift Hours: Full Time, 40 hours per week Employment: Direct/ Benefits #testoperator #aerospacejobs #mechanicaltesting Job Summary We are hiring a hands-on Test Operator to support the testing of aerospace actuation systems in a lab environment. This role involves setup, operation, and documentation of tests on mechanical and electromechanical components such as flight control actuators. Ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude-who is comfortable working with tools, instrumentation, and test equipment. Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate test stands for hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical systems
• Perform testing per engineering specs and procedures, document results clearly
• Use precision tools (e.g., micrometers, gauges) and support basic fabrication (e.g., tube bending, soldering)
• Work from blueprints, test instructions, and data acquisition systems
• Support troubleshooting and collaborate with engineering and quality teams
• Maintain a clean, organized lab and follow all safety and compliance protocols
• Complete and maintain internal certification to perform qualified testing

Required Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience in a hands-on technical testing role
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings, work instructions, and test procedures
• Familiarity with test tools, sensors, and shop equipment
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced aerospace lab or production support environment
• U.S. Citizenship required due to the nature of the work
• Willingness to obtain and maintain internal certifications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or mechanical testing environments
• Knowledge of basic fabrication techniques (tube bending, soldering, etc.)
• Familiarity with hydraulic/pneumatic systems and data acquisition tools
