Job Summary
We are hiring a hands-on Test Operator to support the testing of aerospace actuation systems in a lab environment. This role involves setup, operation, and documentation of tests on mechanical and electromechanical components such as flight control actuators. Ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude-who is comfortable working with tools, instrumentation, and test equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate test stands for hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical systems
- Perform testing per engineering specs and procedures, document results clearly
- Use precision tools (e.g., micrometers, gauges) and support basic fabrication (e.g., tube bending, soldering)
- Work from blueprints, test instructions, and data acquisition systems
- Support troubleshooting and collaborate with engineering and quality teams
- Maintain a clean, organized lab and follow all safety and compliance protocols
- Complete and maintain internal certification to perform qualified testing
Required Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience in a hands-on technical testing role
- Ability to read and follow technical drawings, work instructions, and test procedures
- Familiarity with test tools, sensors, and shop equipment
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced aerospace lab or production support environment
- U.S. Citizenship required due to the nature of the work
- Willingness to obtain and maintain internal certifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or mechanical testing environments
- Knowledge of basic fabrication techniques (tube bending, soldering, etc.)
- Familiarity with hydraulic/pneumatic systems and data acquisition tools
